Faculty of Oriental Studies and History of the Pacific National University (Khabarovsk), Study Center of International Relations in the Asia-Pacific Region (CIMO APR) invites students and graduate students to take part in the Regional Student Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation “Russia and the Asia-Pacific Region: problems of history and modern international relations»

Conference date: May 21, 2021

Conference venue: Russia, Khabarovsk, Pedagogical Institute of the Pacific National University, Faculty of Oriental Studies and History. Address: 680000, Khabarovsk, 68 Karl Marx Street, conference hall in the main building.

The conference work is planned on the following subjects:

  • Modern international relations in the Asia-Pacific region
  • History of the Asia-Pacific countries from ancient times to the XXI century.
  • Social and economic, political and legal aspects of the development of the Russian Far East in the conditions of globalization.
  • Intercultural interaction in the Asia-Pacific region.

Language of the conference: Russian

As part of the Conference it is planned to hold a competition of students` research works with the subsequent issuance of diplomas in following nominations: “Best Scientific Report” and “Best Audio-visual accompaniment of a scientific report”. All participants of the conference will be issued certificates of participation.

The applications for the conference are filled in according to the attached form, and texts of the reports are accepted in electronic form at y-k22@yandex.ru marked “Student Conference” until April 30, 2021 (inclusive). The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject applications and materials of reports that do not correspond to the problem field of the conference and the requirements for registration.

The electronic version of the report consists of 5-10 pages in A4 format, and it should be designed according to the requirements (See: Requirements for the design of scientific articles). Materials sent to the Organizing Committee should fulfil the conditions of the conference subject, editorial requirements, include an abstract, keywords, information about the author (or authors) in Russian and in English, and also a list of references and sources.

The authors are responsible for the content and credibility of the presented works. The articles should be new, include a justification of the scientific problem and a description of the main results derived from the research. All articles should be checked for anti-plagiarism. The uniqueness must be at least 70% (it is necessary to attach a screenshot with the result of checking by the anti-plagiarism system).

The Organizing Committee of the Regional Student Scientific and Practical Conference with the International Participation “Russia and the Asia-Pacific Region: Problems of History and Modern International Relations” consists of the following membership:

President of The Organizing Committee – Timoshenko Valery Nikolayevich, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department of National and Universal History of the Pacific National University (Khabarovsk); Head of the Center for the Study of International Relations in the Asia-Pacific Region”.

  • Yurchenko Ekaterina Sergeevna, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of National and Universal History of the Pacific National University (Khabarovsk);
  • Zdorovilova Natalia Valeryevna, the Head Document Specialist of the Department of National and Universal History of the Pacific National University (Khabarovsk).

Requirements for the design of scientific reports

Text in MS Word. The page format is A4. Spacing: 1.0. Upper, lower and side margins – 25 mm, TimesNewRoman, size 14. Width alignment.

The title of the report is in the center. The title in the Russian and English languages is written in CAPITAL letters. Before the title on the right side, the author’s full name in Russian is indicated.

Tables and pictures are put in the text of the report. Titles of tables are placed above the tables, and picture captions are placed below the pictures. When using several tables and pictures in the text, it is necessary to number them.

The abstract and keywords, up to 150 words, are placed before the text of the article.

References to sources are given in square brackets. The use of page-by-page footnotes is not accepted. The list of literature and sources is given at the end of the article under the heading “References”. Literature and sources are divided into three groups – Russian, English, and East Asian languages. In each group, the names of sources and special literature are given alphabetically. The general numbering of all sources is specified. The normative basis of the bibliographic description is GOST 7.1-2003
